Blog As Socks
Sometimes I think I treat my blog(s) as I would a pair of socks. To be more accurate, a pair of socks as if I am comfortably well-off and can afford to discard a pair after one, perhaps two washings. I step onto the front porch in my stocking feet to grab the newspaper off the front hedges, or notice the faint beginnings of wear on the fabric, and decide the pair is too dirty to bother with, and throw them away.
This poor blog has been through quite a few replications, as for some reason I get in a mood to delete the thing after a few weeks. I’m not sure why that is, it just feels stagnant, kludgy, unuseable, a purely subjective, mercurial mood. Amusingly, I then feel bad that I have a website without something on it, and seek to make another blog, convinced that this will be the one that sticks, only to be deleted a few weeks hence when the mood hits. It always hits.
I have no hope that this time will be any different. All the same, here it is.
