Zan’s Dandy Moon Wine
The druid got me hooked on Good Earth Sweet & Spicy™ Herbal Tea some months back, so I’ve tried to keep the pantry stocked with the stuff since. And he often buys a box of the wine I prefer, the Chillable Red table wine. (Yes, I know wine doesn’t go in boxes, but it’s cheap and makes us happy so ner.)
He mentioned off-hand last week, “Boy, it’d be good to steep some of this tea in some of this wine.” Because wine tends to disappear quickly with him around, I bogarted some, poured it into a container (a used but clean empty butter tub), and put three tea bags therein to steep. I then left it alone in the fridge for three days, shaking it every so often so that the tea bags were unsettled and maximizing the steeping thing.
This evening, after his second nap of the day (hehe), I mentioned the existence of this stuff in the fridge. His eyes lit up, “Let’s try some!” So he grabbed his mug, I grabbed mine, and poured some of the burgundy stuff from the plastic tub into the mugs.
After one mug I’m quite crosseyed and fuzzy, and after two, even the druid, who can tolerate so much more alcohol than me, is feeling its effects. I’m not sure what we’ve created but it’s potent, and yummy, and we will be making this again soon, as I’ve proclaimed, “I’m never drinking wine plain again!”
Take note of this recipe, it has the taste of a perfect mulled wine, not that I have much experience with mulled wines much less any other, but yeah.
