More Important Things to Do

Things are piling up in my room.

There’s a mountain of clothes to wash and put away, not recently dirty but a pile nonetheless.

There’s a mountain of boxes in the corner I could be using for my bookshelf if there weren’t boxes there. The boxes contain crap I’ve been schlepping with me every time I’ve moved but rarely dug into. All of it is stuff I could use sometime or stuff I have used and wish to keep, but really? I could lose all but a couple things and not even realize I don’t have them anymore.

Speaking of the bookshelf, I could take that sucker out of the right side of my closet to have more room for clothes.

Instead, I’m diddling around online on nothing important, listening to calm music, thinking that I ought to have a shower after being lazy on the topic yesterday. And I napped, not necessarily because I was tired but because it was something to do.

I’m going to get dinner in the oven, and see to that shower. And then I think I’m going to commit to one garbage bag of stuff and two big boxes emptied by the end of tonight. Gotta start somewhere, and the operative phrase of that is “gotta start.”
