Reflections

I remember how astonished I felt, at age 13, to think about how old I’d be in 2000 27 after the middle of the year? I hope I have a fabulous college education and a great job by then I wondered if I’d have a family, and if I’d still be living in my hometown

Materialism, do not want.

I’m angsting a bit (a bit?) about the car, I’ve taken it as a personal affront, and only now am I realizing how much I wanted/needed it, for the good of the household and heightening the prospects of me finding employment with it Yeah, there are other cars, and after a time, we could probably fix this one up, but we need a car NOW, and we need a car that works

Setback

Remember the car I was raving about so enthusiastically the other day The urgently, much needed vehicle with which I was going to take the roommates on joy rides, and install an in-dash DVD player, and take myself and the druid back to our hometowns for much nostalgic reminiscing?

Humanitarian

Photo by Kevin Carter A man named Kevin Carter, already known in the field for his years of journalistic photography in Africa highlighting the cruelty of humans against themselves, was standing not far from a center where food was being given out by some charitable organization, to the population in the area Of the girl, nothing is known

It Rained Upside Down

One of my favorite things about living on the rural coast of Washington State was the ocean Sure, there were scenic summer days of hiking from the highway to the beaches, but also rainy sojourns meant more as out-of-door exercise than enjoying the scenery (swathed in fog as it tended to be), and camping trips wherein my family walked repeatedly from the tent/camper trailer to the water’s edge.

A Grinchy Entry

I can’t tell if it’s just me growing older, if everyone experiences this as they grow older, or if there’s a temporal collective societal phenomenon going on, but each end-of-year, I get a little more disenfranchised with the holidays
